Myles Jack, Linebacker, UCLA

Jack is the perfect combination of size, speed and athleticism for linebacker in today’s NFL. He is a three down linebacker that will help transform every defense. Jack has been considered a top five talent in this draft. However, Jack slide out of the first round due to long-term concerns about his knee. Jack suffered a torn meniscus this past fall and forced him to miss the majority of the 2015 season. However, the concerns with Jack are not if he can play this year but long-term. Many teams fear Jack will have major knee problems 3-5 years down the road.

Despite the long-term concerns over Jack’s knee there is no denying his truly elite skill set. The Browns have never had a game-changing linebacker and Jack can be that player for the Browns. The best-case scenario is Jack stays healthy throughout his career and the Browns get a steal in the second round with a soon to be all pro linebacker. The worst-case scenario is Jack’s career is cut short to 3-5 years due to the correct medical prediction of his knee. However in the years Jack will play, he will be the ideal NFL linebacker of today with elite traits and athletic ability to be the face of an NFL defense.

Additionally, news broke Friday that Myles Jack wont need micro fracture surgery from the most respected doctor in professional sports, Dr. James Andrews. With the approval of Dr. Andrews, the Browns should feel safe making Jack the pick at No. 32 overall.
