Cleveland Browns: Which defensive rookies will make the team?

Scooby Wright has generated the most conversation surrounding a seventh-round pick in recent memory. As a sophomore he won the triple crown of national awards bringing home the Nagurski, the Rotary Lombardi and Bednarik awards. However, it was his less-than-stellar measurables that saw his draft stock plummet until almost the end of the draft.

The Browns selected Wright with the No. 29 pick of the seventh round of the NFL draft. His major strength is his elite instincts. He seems to know where the ball is going before the offense does. He able to put himself in the right position to make plays. He lacks every measurable. He lacks size, speed, strength, etc. Yet, he is always in the right place to make the play.
Like Schobert, Wright is a weak side inside linebacker that will need protected in order to make plays. Fans are excited to see what kind of plays Scooby can make.
Verdict: If Schobert is average, Wright has a chance to make the team. Schobert’s scheme versatility gives him the edge over Wright. Scooby makes the practice squad.
