The Cleveland Browns continue to trudge along without a win in 2017, but some of our writers and readers fared a bit better with picking games last week.

Another week and another Cleveland Browns loss. At least we can all count on getting one point each week.

Las week was a good week for everyone that made picks, with three being tied for the weekly lead with 11. Congratulations to Tom and Brandon with sharing the high score, but the highest of fives to Derek Bryner on his winning of the tiebreaker this week giving him the weekly winner award.

That being said, here’s the updated standings:

  1. Thomas Moore, 94 points (11)
  2. Joel Cade, 92 points (10)
  3. Steve Kubitza, 91 points (10)
  4. Andrew Seibt, 89 points (11)
  5. Brandon Onda, 89 points (11)
  6. Derek Bryner, 88 points (11*)
  7. Roger Cohen, 84 points (9)
  8. Joshua Dentler, 76 points (9)
  9. Matt Stevenson, 73 points (8)

Not much of a shift in the standings from last week, as the top six participants all had either 10 or 11 correct picks this week. Tom seems to running away with it, but it’s still close for the field to come back and make this thing interesting.

Everyone was correct in their assessment of the Seattle vs. Arizona game. I don’t think anyone is trusting Drew Stanton or Blaine Gabbert for the Cardinals to take home the W.

The Saints ran roughshod over the Bills at home, who were previously undefeated at home. On the heels of that performance, Sean McDermott decided to bench Tyrod Taylor in favor of rookie Nathan Peterman.

Most of us picked Pittsburgh over Indy, even though Indy had a two score lead for most of that game until the Steelers woke up and decided that they wanted to win the game. Unsurprisingly enough, everyone picked Detroit over the Browns. I expect more of the same with the Jags coming to town this week.

Green Bay over Chicago was an upset based on our picks. Kudos to Derek and Josh for picking the Packers. The injuries keep piling up for Green Bay and John Fox continues to find ways to make his coaching seat hotter despite a better-than-expected season thus far. This game was perhaps the least exciting game of the week, despite the Bears costing themselves on a touchdown turned touchback after they challenged a Tarik Cohen supposed touchdown.

“Least exciting game of the week? Hold my beer!” said the people who watched the Jets vs. the Bucs. It was a revenge game for both Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick and they did exactly what they did on their previous teams which is throw the ball to the other team. The Jets failed to capitalize on a golden opportunity against the Bucs.

“You think the Jets/Bucs was bad, check this out!” said Giants fans who were forced to watch their creepy-haircut head coach lose to the only other winless team out there in the San Francisco 49ers.

I can’t lie, I’ve been picking against the 49ers because I wanted someone else to wallow in the winless sorrow but now that only leaves the Browns as the front-runners for the No. 1 overall pick once again.

Minnesota over Washington seemed to be a surprise to most of our pool but Adam Thielen made sure to make us think otherwise. I hope he keeps it going since he’s on my fantasy team. Tom, Brandon and myself were the only ones to choose the Vikings in that game.

The afternoon and evening games seemed to be a little more unanimous based on the selections made. Tennessee, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New England and Carolina were all the heavy favorites and honored our belief in them winning all of their games.
