2018 Senior Bowl: TV info, rosters and rules for the game

The Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL will be watching closely at Saturday’s Senior Bowl. Here is everything you need to know about the annual game.

The NFL world will be focused on Mobile, Ala., on Saturday afternoon for the annual Senior Bowl game.

Draft-eligible players from across the country have spent the week practicing with the coaching staffs of the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans in the first big showcase of the offseason.

The week has been a particularly important one for Browns general manager John Dorsey as he prepares for his first draft in Cleveland. The Browns hold 12 selections in the 2018 NFL Draft, including selections No. 1 and No. 4, along with three more picks in the second round.

Rules: While the players will be on the field in full pads, there are restrictions placed on just what the coaches can do. Most notably, according to the Senior Bowl website:

  • Personnel packages on offense will be limited to three, and sub-packages are prohibited
  • No blocking below the waist
  • The defense may only rush four players and blitzes from the secondary are prohibited
  • While defenses can play three cornerbacks at a time, they cannot a dime package, or any other sub-packages
  • If the offense goes with three wide receivers, the defense can play a nickel defense
  • Zone coverages are limited to two-deep and three-deep. The defense may play man-to-man, but only with a free safety
