Round 5 Pick 140: Will Clapp, OG/C, LSU

The Browns really have a good offensive line, which is a luxury. They can’t just rest on their laurels though, so adding to that group is always a good idea. Here in Round 5 — where they again have two picks — they go for LSU’s Will Clapp.

More from Browns Draft

Clapp is 6-foot-4 and 311-pounds. He doesn’t have a lot of starting potential, but he’s a solid player that has a high football IQ. He can serve as a backup center and swing guard eventually.

Round 5 Pick 161: John Kelly, RB, Tennessee

The Browns skipped out on Barkley in this mock, so they need to have a running back by committee. They already have Duke Johnson who can win as a receiver and is still a decent change of pace guy. They also went for Kalen Ballage in this mock who’s more of a complete back, but is inexperienced.

Here they add to the group with John Kelly out of Tennessee. He’s got plenty of upside like Ballage, and is also a guy who didn’t receive workhorse type carries. He did play well over the past two seasons and really rounded out in 2017 with 37 receptions. He actually fits the mold of an NFL starter more than Ballage, but doesn’t bring as much athleticism.
