Cleveland Browns: Entire front attending Sam Darnold’s Pro Day

If you want to look into the actions of the Cleveland Browns front office as an indicator of what they will do in the 2018 NFL Draft, then we all better get ready to welcome Sam Darnold to Cleveland.
The Browns made it pretty clear that Darnold is the guy getting most their attention. After head coach Hue Jackson and general manager John Dorsey skipped out on Pro Days for Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield, they apparently will be going to watch Darnold up close and personal.
While they did send vice president of player personnel Alonzo Highsmith to watch Mayfield and Rosen, everyone of importance will go watch the USC product. It’s the only quarterback that their whole front office will attend according to a Tweet sent out by ESPN’s Jordan Zirm.
This could all be smokescreen as the Browns could be trying to throw teams off the scent of who they want. However, with them owning the No. 1 overall pick it really doesn’t seem like such tomfoolery is necessary.
Maybe what this means is they just believe Darnold is the only one who they need to examine more in depth as they have their minds made up on the other two. Or maybe like all of us, the Browns have no clue what they will do when the 2018 NFL Draft kicks off.

As for now, Darnold is looking like their guy. For the record though, they do still have private workouts in mind for both Mayfield and Rosen, so maybe things will change again soon.
