Second quarter: A stretch that may say a lot

Weeks four through eight see the Browns facing their first back-to-back road trips against Tampa Bay (week 7) and the Steelers (week 8). Although the Steelers are the only playoff team from Week 17 in this bunch, the Chargers are being looked at as an improved team and the Ravens are always a tough out.

More from Browns News

If the Browns can find a way to win two out of these four games, it will set them up well for what’s to come.

Way too early predictions:

Week 5: Win (Ravens) – a nice statement win for a team that needs to make a statement

Week 6: Loss (Chargers) – no Christmas miracle this year, but we’ll always have Jamie Meder.

Week 7: Win (@Buccaneers) – the Browns become 1-3 when playing at Raymond James Stadium.

Week 8: Loss (@Steelers) – just not at this team’s level … yet.

Third quarter: A well-placed bye week

The Browns get their bye week after week 10 and that’s after home games against two 2017 playoff teams – the Chiefs and Falcons.

Coming off the bye they start a stretch that has them playing four out of their last six games on the road. The Bengals (week 11) and Texans (week 12) may be the best chance for a win in these four road contests.

Way too early predictions:

Week 9: Loss (Chiefs) – I can’t give them a win until I know they can cover a tight end.

Week 10: Loss (Falcons) – too much offense redux

Week 11: A much-needed bye

Week 12: Win (@Bengals) – I’m not on the Bengals hype train.

Week 13: Loss (@Texans) – A better showing than last year, but not enough.
