Schedule makers did the Cleveland Browns no favors
Fourth quarter: A brutal home stretch
The final four starts off with a home game against the Panthers. The Browns will then get a “featured” NFL Network game against the Broncos. This will be a late Saturday afternoon game, so if the Browns are playing well this could garner some national attention. The Browns close their schedule with two divisional games: home for the Bengals and on the road against Baltimore.
Way too early predictions:
Week 14: Loss (Panthers) – Every year there’s one unexpected win. This could be that game. I’m not picking it, but it could be. I’m saying there’s a chance.
Week 15: Loss (Broncos) – Since returning in 1999, the Browns are 0-7 against the Broncos (0-4 in Denver). More (ahem) seasoned Browns fans like me might be surprised to know that the Browns are just 5-23 all-time against the Broncos. I’m almost in a cold sweat thinking about this house of horrors.
Week 16: Win (Bengals) – Did I mention I’m not on the Bengals hype train.
Week 17: Loss (@Ravens) – If this game meant something, maybe. But perhaps we play our post-Christmas game by unwrapping the rookie.
Next: Redrafting the past 5 first rounds
Overall, on April 20, I’m coming up with a 6-10 record which sounds about right without ever seeing this team, or our opponents, take a snap.
