After passing on taking a running back in the first round — and taking some heat from their fans for it — the Cleveland Browns selected UGA running back Nick Chubb with the third pick in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Let’s take a look at the instant reaction from fans and people around the league.
The Cleveland Browns newest team member, Nick Chubb had an illustrious career at the University of Georgia, compiling nearly 4,800 yards and 44 rushing touchdowns in his four seasons. He managed to accomplish this while missing 7 games in his sophomore season after tearing several ligaments in his right knee.
Most people around the league knew the Browns had interest in Chubb, they just expected the team to take him with the first pick in the second round. The team went with him two picks later, however, and Twitter seemed very positive about the selection.
#Browns will select Georgia RB Nick Chubb with the 35th overall pick.

So Corbett at 33 and Chubb at 35 for Cleveland. 2nd round off to a quick start.
Of course first was the simple news tweets announcing the move.
The #Browns do take #Georgia RB Nick Chubb, but a few picks later than everyone anticipated. He goes with the third pick of the second round.

Legend Jim Brown announces Browns selection of UGA RB Nick Chubb. GM John Dorsey, historian of the game, asked Brown to evaluate 3 RBs in this draft class. Nobody had ever asked Brown to do that. Safe to say Chubb was one of them #Browns

There are always some people that can never be pleased, though.
Oh no, the Browns are going to ruin Nick Chubb.

Nick Chubb joins an offensive backfield that has tons of talent already in running backs Duke Johnson Jr. and free agency newcomer Carlos Hyde. Not to mention a stellar offensive line despite being without Joe Thomas who retired on the offseason.
That will give him plenty of chances to show his worth, while not having to be relied on as a powerhouse number one running back right away.
