Cleveland Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor likes the confidence Josh Gordon has in saying they have the best receivers in the game, now he wants to prove it

Recently Josh Gordon turned some heads when he claimed that the Cleveland Browns had the best wide receivers in the game.

Taking a step back, you could see what would lead him to that claim. Not only did Gordon himself lead the NFL in receiving yards in 2013, but recently acquired Jarvis Landry led the league in receptions just last season.

This is without even mentioning the potential of 2016 first-round pick Corey Coleman, 2018 fourth-round pick Antonio Callaway or guys like Rashard Higgins, Ricardo Louis or Jeff Janis.

We can even extend it to pass catchers in general and the list only becomes more impressive as guys like tight ends David Njoku and Seth DeValve have had success catching the ball as have running backs Carlos Hyde and especially Duke Johnson.

There’s no doubt that the talent is there, but does putting such a claim out there invite too much pressure? Not if you’re quarterback Tyrod Taylor who said he likes the confidence and had a simple goal in mind following the claim:

"“I love the confidence in those guys. Every receiver definitely feels that they’re the best. I think that’s what makes them unique and able to play that position. Whether you say it or not, it really boils down to what you do. Now that the statement’s out there, we have to go out there and prove it.” — Taylor said at Browns minicamp via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com"

Taylor also acknowledged in the same piece from Cabot that comments don’t win ball games, which is exactly what a veteran quarterback is supposed to say. Still, it’s exciting for Cleveland fans to see such bravado from this team, and know they can back it up with the talent they posses.

This has been a great offseason for the Browns. Now it’s just time to do like Taylor said and follow up the talk with the proof.
