The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the praise the team has been getting for their current stable of quarterbacks

This offseason the goal was clear for the Cleveland Browns, fix the quarterback situation. It’s no coincidence that their failure to land a franchise guy has been matched with poor seasons.

Now they hope to have addressed that as they brought in Tyrod Taylor from Buffalo and used the first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft on Baker Mayfield out of Oklahoma.

Despite the top pick being spent on Mayfield, the plan is still to start Taylor as the rookie learns the ropes. That plan — and the talent under center — has been getting pretty solid reviews from players and pundits alike.

Cleveland Browns: 5 Bold predictions for 2018

Predictions for some numbers that will be put up by defensive end Myles Garrett, quarterback Tyrod Taylor and rookie running back Nick Chubb — bold predictions that is.

Josh Gordon likes his new quarterbacks

Receiver Josh Gordon has had some great seasons with mediocre quarterback play. He hopes the second part of that equation changes in 2018 and is very encouraged by the guys throwing the ball in Cleveland.

Browns biggest mistake this offseason

Not all the moves made by the Browns were the right ones this offseason. The good news is finding one that should have been done differently is much more difficult than seasons past.

Cleveland Browns: 5 reasons they are the best Hard Knocks subject ever —Sayre Bedinger, NFL Mocks

"“Despite their lack of success, the Browns were an obvious choice for one of the most interesting teams in the NFL especially as it relates to being the subject of the HBO series Hard Knocks, which will cover the team’s journey through training camp and the preseason.”"

Spoiler alert: The No. 1 reason is that Bedinger thinks this is the start of something special in Cleveland. We hope he’s right, and for what it’s worth it sure seems to be that way. The Browns have made a lot of positive moves and seeing it all come together on ‘Hard Knocks’ will be fun.

The Browns are handling quarterback the right way and 22 other things we learned during minicamp — Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"“When we talk about the quarterbacks, let’s make this clear: no matter your feelings about Mayfield — whether you wanted the Browns to take him No. 1 or not — they picked him and he is the future. He is the player this regime selected as their quarterback of the future and there’s no going back — at least not for a while. Every move they make is built around him becoming this team’s starting quarterback for a long time.”"

Dan Labbe takes some notes from minicamp and although he looks at all the positions, the majority of his 22 things he learned center around the most important position in the game.

That makes sense because this is the spot the Browns have to get right. If they did, the ‘Factory of Sadness’ will finally retire. If not, well let’s not think about that.
