Cleveland Browns News: Coordinators a bit chippy
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the news you need to know, including a dust-up between the two coordinators for the Cleveland Browns at a practice
The practices keep rolling for the Cleveland Browns and things are getting hot. And no, that’s not just because we’re still in the middle of August.
A recent practice for the Browns got testy when a defender made contact with Baker Mayfield and offensive coordinator Todd Haley decided to let it be known that wasn’t how practices go.
Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, of course, defended his men and the two never backed down. Head coach Hue Jackson wasn’t upset about it but admitted he has to keep the two calm.

Cleveland Browns News
"Browns offensive coordinator Todd Haley and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, both the alphiest of Alpha Dogs, got into a shouting match during practice over contact with the quarterback, and expletives flew."
Cabot is right about Haley and Williams each being alpha dogs. The questions come when someone like Hue Jackson has to play umpire between the two of them. Jackson feels a bit overmatched here, but he’s right that the fire from the coaches is a good thing. This team could use an edge, they just need to save it for some opponents.
Cleveland Browns continue to shuffle their first-team left tackle
What letter comes after Z? The Browns already resorted to “Plan Z,” which was to put Joel Bitonio at left tackle. Now they had him back at guard during practice with Greg Robinson rolling with the starters at left tackle. Maybe they were just seeing if his good week rolled over because Bitonio did nothing to indicate he can’t handle the job. He would, however, be better back at his normal spot.
Browns players keep saying they want Dez
First, it was Tyrod Taylor, now Jarvis Landry. It seems like all the players in Cleveland want Dez Bryant to join them. He should be coming for a visit soon, which means they may get their wish.
"Mychal Kendricks estimates he’s 95 percent healthy following an offseason ankle surgery which, according to the new Browns linebacker, is about as good as it gets considering the profession."
Right now, linebacker looks to be the best position on this entire Browns’ roster. Mychal Kendricks was a great signing and he may not even be a starter out of the gates. Cleveland can go five or six deep at this spot and having a motivated and healthy Kendricks helps a lot in that regard.
