Cleveland Browns: The Dez Bryant saga will never end
By Dan Justik
It has been close to a month that the Cleveland Browns have been linked to free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant, yet the two sides have been unable to get close to finishing a deal.
The Cleveland Browns have been flirting with the possibility of signing free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant for the past couple of weeks.
Bryant has also shown interest in joining the Browns, as he has shared multiple tweets either complimenting Browns players or saying that he would be willing to join Cleveland.
Last week, Bryant made his first visit to the Browns facility, which was seen as a step towards the two getting close to a deal. But after negotiating with the Browns for two days, he left the visit without a deal.

Just days after Bryant’s visit with the Browns, Josh Gordon announced that he would be returning to the team. With Gordon returning to the practice field soon, it seemed that the Browns were not as inclined to sign Bryant.
But before the Browns’ preseason game against the Eagles on Thursday night, NFL Network’s Mike Silver reported that the Browns were still very interested in adding Bryant to the roster.
Following Silver’s report, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on Friday that the Browns are indeed still interested in signing Bryant, but Bryant may not feel the same about the Browns.
"Bryant is believed by some to be waiting for a better team. He also could be waiting for a better offer from the Browns. Per a league source, the Browns offered Bryant a deal with a base value of less than $5 million – Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk"
With the hold-up seemingly on Bryant’s end, it seems like the Bryant-Browns saga is not going to end until Bryant signs a deal – whether it is with the Browns or another team.
It is very possible that Bryant’s apparent interest in joining the Browns could just be him trying to leverage a deal with a team with more prestige than Cleveland. But Bryant has not seen a lot of other suitors, and a deal with the Browns may be his only choice.
But as of right now, no one knowing what Bryant wants – other than Bryant and his agent – is going to force the Bryant-Browns rumors to keep happening. The Browns seem like they want to add Bryant, and will not stop recruiting him until he signs a contract with either them or some other organization.
