Stud: Nick Chub, Running Back

We are all wondering the same thing, why didn’t Nick Chubb get the ball more? Offensive coordinator Todd Haley said they would ride the hot hand with their three-headed running back room, but that’s not been the case.

Instead, they’ve run Carlos Hyde into the ground. While he’s been serviceable, he’s not been as explosive as Chubb who had 105 yards and two touchdowns on three carries. Yes, three carries.

That was the most he touched the ball though as he had just two carries in each of their first three games. Hyde can carry it 20 times a game and he gets tough yards, but Chubb deserves more because he is dangerous.

Dud: Antonio Callaway, Jarvis Landry Wide Receivers

It’s hard to call either Antonio Callaway or Jarvis Landry out because each redeemed themselves with big players, but they weren’t at their best on Sunday. Callaway had a pass go off his hands and into Gareon Conley‘s. The Raiders defensive back took it back for a touchdown, which was the first score of the game.

He had two other drops in this one and ended with three catches on nine targets. Still, his 59-yard catch was huge to set up a score, but the drops were big in this game of inches.

As for Landry, he had a beautiful touchdown grab, but also a drop that proved costly. Like Callaway, he had a lot of targets (10) with not many grabs (4).

Overall, this last one is hard because they gave their all. But in a game that came down to the wire, those drops were huge.
