Some Cleveland Browns fans haven’t completely warmed up to second-year safety Jabrill Peppers and he thinks playing for Michigan may play a part in that

During his rookie season, Jabrill Peppers had a hard time playing safety for the Cleveland Browns. A lot of that had to do with him being played out of position as defensive coordinator Gregg Williams played the former Michigan linebacker deep as a free safety.

He’s since moved to a strong safety role and has been playing better. It hasn’t helped completely as he’s still a work in progress. He also hasn’t endeared himself completely to a sports city he called “wishy-washy.

PArt of what he thinks the problem is for him in Cleveland is the fact he played collegiately at Michigan.

Sure, there are a lot of Browns fans who love Ohio State — and therefore hate Michigan — but it would seem most would embrace him if he was meeting his lofty draft status.

Peppers’ take on the situation is featured in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Jabrill Peppers blames ‘hostile’ confrontations with Browns fans in part on his Michigan pedigree

"Jabrill Peppers blames what he described as a lot of ‘hostile’ confrontations with Browns fans in part on the fact he played at Michigan, but former Buckeye Carlos Hyde cautions that it comes with the territory.“It’s going to be like that here,” Hyde told Cleveland.com. “Definitely. He knows that. Coming to Ohio, he knows that. It’d be like me going to Detroit.”"

The fans will love Peppers if he starts living up to his draft status. To be fair to him, he’s been playing different positions for each of his two seasons and has improved this year so far.

Browns elevate DL Brian Price to active roster

"The Cleveland Browns have signed DL Brian Price to the active roster from the practice squad. To make room, the team released DL Devaroe Lawrence."

Not too long ago the Browns gave Price a big raise to stay on their practice squad when other teams tried to poach him. He must have known that this was coming soon as well. Price is an underrated nose tackle who can help in the run game.

Desmond Harrison’s improvement is night and day

Joel Cade understands offensive line play extremely well and he’s impressed with the progress Desmond Harrison has made since his first start. Should the undrafted free agent become a fixture there, this team can be in great shape moving forward.

Baker Mayfield believes this team is close

The Browns have been close to winning all season and somehow have just one victory. Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield believes that’s going to change soon as he says the team is very close to fixing their issues and reeling off some wins.
