Cleveland Browns News: Rashard Higgins sprains MCL
By Dan Justik
The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news that you need to know, including wide receiver Rashard Higgins going to miss time due to a sprained MCL.
The Cleveland Browns will be without wide receiver Rashard Higgins for a few weeks, as a MRI on Monday revealed that he suffered a sprained MCL.
Higgins has been playing the biggest role in his three-year career after the Browns traded Josh Gordon. Higgins has caught 16 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown.
The loss of Higgins will likely mean that Antonio Callaway will become the Browns No. 2 receiver behind Jarvis Landry. But after that, it is anyone’s guess as to who will be the next receiver in line.

"The Browns had set up a workout today with former Titan receiver Richard Matthews before Higgins’ injury, but coach Hue Jackson said on a conference call Monday “we’ll see” when asked about signing the seven-year veteran. He’s scheduled to visit the Cardinals on Tuesday, and the Browns appear to be leaning towards using their own guys as replacements."
With the Browns struggling to find a solid No. 2 receiver behind Landry, it is a surprise that they may decide to pass on Matthews. Matthews has not been the same player that he was in 2016, but he could potentially find that production in Cleveland with more targets.
