Quarterback Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor is one of the most obvious options to be traded by the Browns. Mostly because he can provide more value to another team than the Browns.

Taylor struggled in every game that he played in this season. He was tentative throwing the ball, and was usually throwing inaccurate passes. In three games this season, Taylor has thrown for 462 yards, two touchdowns, and two interception while completing 48.8 percent of his passes.

He is currently the backup for Baker Mayfield, and has been mostly silent since being demoted. Unless Mayfield suffers an injury, it would be very unlikely that Taylor will play another snap in a Cleveland uniform.

For that reason, the Browns should consider trading Taylor and receive some value instead of sitting him for the rest of the season and letting him walk in free agency. He does provide leadership qualities in the locker room, but Drew Stanton can provide that in his place.

There are teams that are dealing with lingering quarterback injuries, and they may want to improve their backup quarterback situation. Although Taylor struggled this season, he can be a solid backup quarterback for teams in playoff contention.

The Browns have Stanton as their third quarterback, and he can provide the same presence that Taylor has provided as the backup quarterback. Cleveland could then bring back a familiar face in Brogan Roback and make him the team’s third string quarterback.

The Browns may not get a lot back in a potential Taylor trade, but any value they can get for him would benefit the organization.
