Cleveland Browns News: Gregg Williams has a softer side
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags brings you the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including a look at how Gregg Williams seems more subdued as the head coach
During ‘Hard Knocks,’ Gregg Williams was entertaining. As the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns he was was loud, profane, and downright funny.
Now serving as the interim head coach, he comes across a lot more subdues. Fans may be shocked about this because they are used to the Gregg we saw on HBO, but it makes sense.
With more responsibility now, Williams is likely taking a different approach. He knows his only goal is no longer to get his guys to run through a brick wall. Instead, he has to worry about the whole team.

Kinder, gentler Gregg Williams is running the Browns
"The Gregg Williams who is the interim coach of the Cleveland Browns?A model of reserve. Calm, cool and collected. Almost dignified.Has the man who raged so often on camera and in the past changed? Probably not. Williams has been around too long to lose his persona. What has changed with Williams is his seat; he now represents the team on a daily basis when he speaks to the media. The other factor: He has a team that might not need the robust style."
It has yet to be seen if the new approach will lead to Williams finding a long-term job as a head coach — whether that’s here or elsewhere. Still, it’s been interesting to see this new side of the man who is running the team.
John Dorsey will find and hire his first ever head coach
The Cleveland Browns new head coach will be selected by John Dorsey, but this will be the first time that the general manager selects someone for the position. It should be interesting to keep an eye on.
Bruce Arians to the Cleveland Browns? Let’s think about it — Terry Pluto, Cleveland.com
"If Arians is heathly, rested and looking for one last challenge — he must be considered a serious candidate.Last time someone called plays for the Browns when they made the playoffs, that man’s name was Bruce Arians."
Age seems to be the one thing that scares fans off when talking about Bruce Arians as a coaching candidate. He’s 66 years old, so he’s not going to be around much longer. Still, he’s great with quarterbacks, so it may not be the worst idea. One thing that is for sure, this hire won’t be easy as there will be plenty of options.

Genard Avery was a steal as a fifth-round pick and has really made a mark rushing the passer. While his sack totals aren’t high, he has gotten some love for the way he is playing — and the pressure he is providing.
