Cleveland Browns News: Gregg Williams not concerned with Hue Jackson
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the news you need to know regarding the Cleveland Browns, including Gregg Williams not concerning himself with Hue Jackson
After a week off, the Cleveland Browns are preparing for a Week 12 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. That means they will be seeing their former head coach Hue Jackson — who is an assistant with Cincinnati now.
While some players may want to stick it to their old boss, interim head coach Gregg Williams is unconcerned with who will be coaching on the other side. Instead, Williams is focused on doing what he has to do to help his team win.
He said as much when he stated that there won’t be any extra feelings and that their game plan won’t be altered any. It makes sense that the questions would be asked, but it makes more sense that Williams won’t be panicking over another team’s assistant.

"“I don’t think any of them need extra juice,’’ Williams said. “That’s not what we’re about. I’d probably say no.’’Williams also said the Browns wouldn’t change up their calls or schemes dramatically given that Jackson knows their playbook inside and out."
Gregg Williams is a confident guy and he shows this in saying he’s not going out of his way to worry about Jackson. It’s not a slight on Hue either when he says it — it’s just Williams believing in his team and going out to do what they do best regardless of who is on the other sideline. And as far as Jackson knowing their offense, this doesn’t look like nearly the same offense he was coaching — so good luck.
"Without even knowing what the return compensation will turn into, it’s safe to say the Cleveland Browns won the midseason trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars which sent RB Carlos Hyde to the Jaguars for a 2019 fifth-round draft pick. Cleveland’s run game has thrived after dealing Hyde, while the veteran has been given very little to do by the sinking Jaguars."
Carlos Hyde was a good running back, but he fell victim to Hue Jackson and Todd Haley’s stubbornness. He would have been a decent option behind Nick Chubb, but since they wouldn’t play Chubb, Hyde was shipped off. And unfortunately for him, he’s not getting the ball much at all now.
Nick Chubb ready to feast against Cincy
After watching the Baltimore Ravens run all over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, running back Nick Chubb has to be thrilled about meeting that team this weekend.
