Cleveland Browns: Studs and duds in Week 14 win over Carolina
By Randy Gurzi
Dud: Rashard Higgins, Wide Receiver
This season has been a pretty good one for wideout Rashard Higgins. He’s shown since preseason that he and rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield have been on the same page. Their report is evident in their timing plays and it’s been evident in the numbers he’s put up.

Higgins will finish this season with the most receptions he’s had in his career and he’s already topped his career-high for receiving yards and touchdowns. He could have added another touchdown as well in this one but was unable to haul in a pass.
Nearing the end of the first half, the Browns were moving the ball and Mayfield went for a deep pass to Higgins. He was unable to haul it in and had he done so, he was going in for six.
The drop killed the drive and Cleveland had to settle for three as kicker Greg Joseph came in and knocked in a 49-yard field goal.
To Higgins’ credit, he did catch the other two targets that came his way and ended with 19 yards receiving.
He’s still had a great season, and it’s easy to shrug this play off since the Browns ended up winning. However, with it being a six-point win, there was a chance that it could have come back up later in the game.
