The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news that you need to know, including how Baker Mayfield could have led a 2018 playoff run.

The Cleveland Browns have been a much different team since the organization fired Hue Jackson and Todd Haley at the end of October.

The Browns have gone 3-2 since Gregg Williams was promoted to the interim head coach, and they have an outside shot at making the playoffs.

The Browns would need a good amount of help, as they would need to win their last three games,  Pittsburgh to lose their last three games, and the Ravens to go 1-2.

It may be unlikely, but the Browns have one of the best chances to reach the playoffs that they have had in years.

In today’s featured article, one Browns reporter thinks that the Browns would have definitely made the playoffs in 2018 if Baker Mayfield had been the starter since Week 1.

If Baker Mayfield had started earlier and the Browns had fixed their offensive dysfunction sooner, they could’ve made the playoffs this year – Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"If Baker Mayfield had started from day one and the Browns had addressed their offensive dysfunction sooner, the Browns could’ve gone from 0-16 to the playoffs this season instead of having the minuscule chance that they do now at 5-7-1."

If the pairing of Mayfield and Freddie Kitchens would have started earlier in the season, there is a good chance that the Browns could have been leading the AFC North at this point. Revisionist history does nothing, but it is interesting to think about what could have been.

The Browns locker room has a confidence that makes them hard to not like. They understand that there is a lot of work to be done if they want to make the postseason, but the belief in the locker room is strong enough that they should be able to do their part of a potential playoff run.
