The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news that you need to know, including looking back at the Browns playoff appearance in 2002.

The Cleveland Browns are once again looking towards the draft in January instead of worrying about their next opponent in the playoffs or in depression following a playoff loss.

The excitement and nervousness of being in the playoffs are feelings that Browns fans have not felt in a long time – 17 years to be exact. They came close in 2007, but a Jim Sorgi led Colts team could not help Cleveland out.

The Browns appear as close as ever to making the playoffs once again, thanks to having a franchise quarterback in Baker Mayfield and a dominating pass rusher in Myles Garrett. With those two leading their sides of the ball, Cleveland seems destined to be playing in the playoffs in the near future.

Lost in the Browns ineptitude since returning to Cleveland in 1999 was how close they were in 2002 to making a run in the playoffs. A Dennis Northcutt dropped pass just added to the list of devastating Browns playoff losses. Fans are itching to get back to the postseason, and they may have the team that can do it in 2019.
