The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including a look at some of the biggest moves that turned the franchise around

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield had a great message for his fans on Monday as he took to Instagram to let them know that he was excited about the year ahead of him and that the team was going to do great things. He just said it in a weird way.

Mayfield decided to have a little fun and inhale helium from a balloon before giving his message to the fans. It was just another reminder that while he’s a major star in the NFL, Mayfield still likes to have a good time and is a kid at heart.

Outside of Baker having a good time, there was also a deep look at the moves that helped transform the franchise from the winless 2017 team to the AFC North favorites they are today.

Baker Mayfield sucks in a bunch of helium, gives uplifting message to Browns fans — Andy Nesbitt, For The Win, USA Today

"“But I gotta think somewhere Colin Cowherd is watching this video and yelling at the clouds about how Mayfield doesn’t have what it takes to be a leader or whatever other dumb things he says about the QB.”"

Mayfield keeps proving he’s a lot of fun to follow, but Nesbitt is probably right. Colin Cowherd is surely going crazy somewhere wondering why the NFL is testing Mayfield for helium. He probably also thinks this is the perfect proof that Mayfield is too young and immature to lead a team. He’s wrong, but that’s probably what he’s thinking.

Snagging Genard Avery as a potential fifth-round steal: Transforming the Cleveland Browns, Decision No. 21 — Doug Lesmerises, Cleveland.com

"“Genard Avery was selected in the fifth round and his path as a Brown is right on track. He played well and flashed his potential in a part-time role that expanded over the course of his rookie season in 2018. And now the Browns are ready for him to start at linebacker. That’s how you make a fifth-round pick work, and that’s why Avery is No. 21 on our list of the moves transforming the Browns.”"

Cleveland is one of the hottest teams in the league right now and it’s hard to find many people who don’t like what they’re doing. Doug Lesmerises is running a series looking at their biggest moves and the selection of Genard Avery is one that will only look better the more he plays.

John Dorsey hints Cleveland Browns could trade into first round of ’19 Draft

Currently, the Browns don’t own a selection in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. That could change though as John Dorsey hinted at a move back up — and he has a history of making some splashed on draft night.

Tim Couch was not a Cleveland Browns draft bust

Former Cleveland quarterback Tim Couch is often labeled a bust, but Elliot Kennel isn’t a fan of giving him that tag. Here he writes about why that take is incorrect and how we all should really look at Couch.
