The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the Browns potentially having the best linebacker in the league.

Entering the 2019 season, it was known the Cleveland Browns defense was filled with potential. There is talent at all three levels, but they were going to need to gel with Steve Wilks’ scheme in order to be as good of a unit as they could potentially be.

And aside from the beat down from the Tennessee Titans in the season opener, the Browns defense has been a solid unit. Their top players are leading the unit, such as Myles Garrett up front. But Joe Schobert has arguably been the best player on the entire unit.

The quarterback of the Browns defense, Schobert has been all over the field making plays this season, as evidenced by his 17 tackle performance against the Ravens. Schobert is excelling both as a tackler and in pass coverage, which is his best strength.

Today’s featured article explains why Schobert could be considered the best linebacker in the league, or at least the best linebacker in the league so far this season.

Cleveland Browns News

Cleveland Browns’ Joe Schobert is making a case that he is the NFL’s best inside linebacker – Ellis L. Williams, Cleveland.com

"Schobert, the Big Ten linebacker of the year at Wisconsin his senior year, plays smart and assignment-sound football. Combined with his impressive natural athleticism (watch him dunk at the 38-second mark of this video), he is making a case as not only the future of the inside linebacker position but for being considered near the top of his position."

Schobert has greatly improved his tackling this season after struggling with missed tackles in 2018. Adding his consistent tackling to his pass coverage and on-field awareness makes him an extremely valuable member of the defense. And with all of his skills combined, there is no doubt Schobert should be considered one of the best linebackers in the NFL.

Freddie Kitchens: Browns can’t beat 49ers with talent alone – Chris Biderman, The Sacramento Bee

"“We’ve got a lot of talent, but we haven’t done anything yet,” Browns coach Freddie Kitchens said in a conference call with 49ers beat reporters Wednesday. “Talent’s just not the key to success. And hopefully our guys are realizing that. I think our guys do realize that. It has nothing to do with talent.”"

The Browns have already learned their lesson from the beginning of the season that just because they have weapons all over the field, is does not mean it will equal success. The Browns are already changing up their schemes and game plans, which helped them beat the Ravens. They are going to have to go out and do it again against the 49ers.
