Stud: Ricky Seals-Jones

A broken wrist in Week 2 sent tight end David Njoku to the injured reserve which left the Browns with a hole on offense. It’s not as if they didn’t like their backup tight ends, because they do. However, Demetrius Harris and Pharaoh Brown are better in the blocking game than as receivers which meant they were in need of someone to pick up the slack in the receiving game.

Thankfully, they had already landed someone who could help them as they claimed Ricky Seals-Jones off waivers on Sep. 1. For whatever reason, the Arizona Cardinals decided to move on from Seals-Jones despite his solid play in his first two seasons in the NFL.

Formerly undrafted out of Texas A&M, RSJ had 12 receptions for 201 yards and two scores as a rookie and followed that up with 34 catches for 343 yards and another score.

He started to make his mark with the Browns in Week 4 against the Ravens when he had 82 yards on three catches and his first touchdown of the season. On Sunday, he continued showing up for Cleveland as he pulled in the team’s third touchdown of the game when he took a Baker Mayfield pass 31 yards to the house.

In all, he had three catches for 47 yards, putting him second on the team for receiving yardage. He continues to prove that he’s quite the find for JohnDorsey.
