Cleveland Browns News: Baker Mayfield fined again
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Baker Mayfield getting fined by the NFL for being honest
He said what all of us were thinking. The referees have been awful this season and it hasn’t just been in games with the Cleveland Browns. There have been several games affected by botched calls and some of the players have had enough.
Baker Mayfield can be counted as one such player as he came out and ripped the officials following the team’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. And as is often the case, the NFL decided to hit Mayfield in the pocketbook.
Cleveland’s starting quarterback was fined for his criticisms of the refs, and the fact that this fine was made public, but no punishment for the officials is ever made know, further cements their untouchable status — which makes the egregious calls even more likely.

Cleveland Browns News
"“He said he knew he was going to get fined, ‘but it needs to be said. People need to be held accountable for their job. When it affects my job, it sucks because it’s not in my control.'”"
Mayfield is absolutely right that the penalties and phantom calls affect his job. That’s not to say the losses are on the officials, but there’s no reason to make it more difficult on the team. And that’s what happened when they called a blindside block on Jarvis Landry when it could be seen from the nose bleeds that they were facing one another.
"“The Cleveland Browns apparently don’t plan on letting the NFL trade deadline pass without making a significant offensive line acquisition for quarterback Baker Mayfield. The only question is whether general manager John Dorsey can reel in the perennial Pro Bowler he has been pursuing for nearly two months, or settle for something less.”"
The Browns have been linked to Nate Solder of the Giants and Halapoulivaati Vaitai of the Eagles. No deal is imminent but they could pull the trigger on something ahead of the Oct. 29 deadline.
4 players under the radar vs the Patriots
Casey Kinnamon knows the Browns face a tough task this weekend with the New England Patriots and he says these four under the radar players will need to step up in a huge way to steal a win.
