The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including the ‘mixed emotions’ running back Kareem Hunt has ahead of his return

Kareem Hunt will be making his first appearance in the regular season as a member of the Cleveland Browns and he says he has “mixed emotions” as the day approaches. Hunt was suspended for eight games after a video was released that showed him shoving and later kicking a female in a Cleveland hotel.

At the time, he was on the Kansas City Chiefs and playing some amazing football for them. Once the video surfaced, the Chiefs washed their hands of the former NFL rushing leader and John Dorsey — who drafted him with Kansas City — came calling.

Now, he looks to make good on his second chance and will do so on a team that already has one of the best running backs in the league in Nick Chubb. So not only will he need to get back into the rhythm of playing in the NFL, but he will also need to find a role on a team that already has a dominant back.

Cleveland Browns News

Browns running back Kareem Hunt has ‘mixed emotions’ ahead of his return from suspension — Jordan Dajani, CBS Sports

"“Like, 342 days,” Hunt said, via Cleveland.com. “Three-hundred-forty-two days. I’ve been counting down. I’m just excited. A lot of mixed emotions, high and low. It’s going to be a very fun, emotional game, and I’m definitely going to be excited to get out there and do whatever I can to play the role and help this team win.”"

It’s been a long time since we have seen Kareem Hunt in a regular-season game and he’s apparently been counting down the days. For him, it will be nice to try and put the past behind him whereas the Browns could use a shot in the arm on offense. And he’s a player capable of delivering that.

Jarvis Landry buys Odell Beckham Jr. a scooter for his b-day to replace the one he wrecked at LSU — Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com

"“Odell Beckham Jr. bought an orange Rolls-Royce this season with a one-handed catch-themed ornament, but the orange scooter that Jarvis Landry just bought him for his 27th birthday on Tuesday is the best set of wheels he’s received this year”"

Apparently Jarvis Landry was hit by a bus on a scooter he borrowed from OBJ back when they were at LSU. Beckham recapped the story and while he was more concerned about his friend than the bike at the time, he also seemed rather happy to get a new one on his birthday.

Cleveland Browns’ Freddie Kitchens doesn’t ‘look at stats’ when it comes to struggling Baker Mayfield — Paulina Dedaj, Fox News

"“There’s a lot of factors that go into that. I don’t think he’s just wildly missing passes. I don’t really look at that,” he said before adding, “I truly do not look at stats.”"

Baker Mayfield has struggled mightily this season and his stats reflect that. Kitchens is right to not be too concerned with that but that always sounds better when it’s followed by boasting a winning record.

Will ‘force feeding’ Odell Beckham Jr. help?

It’s no secret that Odell Beckham, Jr. needs the ball more but usually ‘force-feeding’ it to anyone is a bad idea. However, that might not be the case here as Dan Justik explores this very question.

Browns get their third win of the season, resign J.C. Tretter

On Thursday, Cleveland gave center J.C. Tretter a three-year extension. That’s a win for them as it keeps one of their top offensive linemen under contract through the 2022 season.
