Larry Ogunjobi tried to appeal his one-game suspension for his part in the Week 11 brawl, but the league ruled against the Cleveland Browns defensive tackle

Two appeals have been heard for Cleveland Browns defensive linemen this week. One of those has already been decided on.

Larry Ogunjobi was suspended for one game and fined $10,000 for his role in the Week 11 brawl. After appealing, he saw the fine dropped but will still miss out on the game.

As for Myles Garrett, his appeal was also heard. However, there has been no decision on his indefinite suspension but one is expected sometime before they take on the Miami Dolphins.

NFL upholds one-game suspension for Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi — Jen Steer, FOX 8

"“NFL officials upheld the suspension of Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi while a decision on defensive end Myles Garrett will come later this week.Appeals officer James Thrash upheld the one-game suspension, but rescinded the $10,000 fine for Ogunjobi.”"

The Browns were punished much harder than the Steelers and this loss wasn’t exactly shocking. Next up will be their decision on Myles Garrett. Hopefully, that one will bring some clarity.

Browns promote safety J.T. Hassell, who only has use of one hand, to active roster — Josh Edwards, CBS Sports

"“It is remarkable that Hassell is getting an opportunity to play at this level. He impressed the coaching staff with his work ethic and dedication to special teams. The defensive back has the use of just one hand; Hassell was born with a defect that impacted his left arm. His family gives it little attention because it is not something that he is going to let impact his life.”"

It’s always great to see a young kid who works his tail off get a shot to make the roster. Hassell is a guy who is easy to root for. And he also gives them depth at a position that has been weakened by injury this season.

Myles Garrett has precedent, should win appeal

It feels like the helmet shot was an isolated event, but it actually has happened before. Matt McFatridge looks back to a helmet swing by Antonio Smith and says it gives Myles Garrett a precedent that should sway the appeal in his favor.

Olivier Vernon will be vital to Cleveland Browns final six games

With Myles Garrett gone for the next six games, barring appeal, the Browns are going to have to lean heavily on Olivier Vernon, the defensive end they added via trade this offseason.

Jarvis Landry gets early birthday present facing Miami

Jarvis Landry is throwing a big birthday bash after the Browns game against the Dolphins. His birthday is next week but perhaps they can win as an early present for him — making the celebration that much sweeter as he would be knocking off his former team.
