3. Christian Kirksey, Linebacker

The Cleveland Browns have struggled so mightily to field a winning team that their roster has been continually overturned more than any other in the NFL. Proof of this can be seen in the fact that the two longest-tenured players on the team are Joel Bitonio and Christian Kirksey, who both were drafted by Cleveland in 2014.

Bitonio is safe to return in 2020 for his seventh NFL season but the same cannot be said for Kirksey. The veteran linebacker is still a good player and one of the leaders of this team but he has missed a tremendous amount of time in the past two seasons.

After signing a four-year, $38 million extension in 2017, Kirksey started to struggle to stay healthy. This was a shock after he played all 16 games in each of his first four seasons in the NFL.

In 2018, he missed nine games as he was placed on the IR with a hamstring injury. He then played just two games in 2019 as a chest injury shut him down early.

Now with just two years left on his contract, Kirksey could be on the way out. OverTheCap.com has him scheduled to make just over $9 million this season and the Browns could save roughly $6.6 million by releasing him.

Andrew Berry could decide to do just that and use the money saved to go toward fellow linebacker Joe Schobert who enters this offseason as a free agent.
