When the Browns traded away Kevin Zeitler last year, it seemed as though it could be a risk that paid off. Sure, Zeitler was great for them at right guard but they landed a Pro Bowl edge rusher from the Giants in Olivier Vernon.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

With him lining up across from Myles Garrett, the defensive line was vastly improved. As for the O-line, it was a problem in 2018, but the belief was that the No. 33 overall pick from the previous season would step in and replace Zeitler.

Austin Corbett was tasked with that job but it was quickly decided he couldn’t handle it. That led to the Browns having a rotating door at the position and Corbett was even traded to the Los Angeles Rams as the Browns admitted their mistake in selecting him so early. That whole mess made things much harder up front than expected.

This year, Cleveland needs to find their answer at right guard and the draft could be a great place to look for that player. However, with greater needs at offensive tackle, safety, and possibly linebacker (if Joe Schobert is not re-signed) the Browns might have to wait until the second or maybe even third day of the draft to land a guard.

If that becomes the case, a name to watch is Netane Muti. When you turn on the film for Muti, he shows that he has what it takes to be a starter in the NFL. He has great mobility and can be a real weapon if he can get to the second level of the defense and clear paths in the run game.

The problem is, Muti has real concerns with his durability. That makes him a gamble but this is one worth taking. If he shakes the injury bug, he could be a mid-round steal. And Cleveland can use some of those as they look to fill out their roster.
