Sheldrick Redwine 6-foot-0, 196-pounds — Second year

Sheldrick Redwine was thrown into the starting lineup last year and started five games for the Browns campaign in his rookie year in 2019. As a fourth-round selection out of Miami in the 2019 draft, the team was hoping he could help on special teams and develop behind former Brown Demarious Randle.

Injuries, however, had to see his development rushed during the season.

Redwine had 42 tackles at the safety position and did not account for any interceptions. In five starts, he amassed 28 tackles over the year and two passes defended.

He was exposed however in coverage as he surrendered two touchdowns and gave up a 56 percent completion rate on 16 targets his way. Looking at his stats, he still as a way to go to become every play starter.

Redwine is still developing his skills. The former front office regime took Redwine so it should be interesting to see how Stefanski uses him in the new defense. With almost an entirely new safety room, Redwine will have to make a name for himself in the preseason if he wants to continue seeing more field action.

He’ll probably contribute more on special teams this year however just due to the quality of this position group and given health circumstances.
