One of the biggest reasons the Cleveland Browns 2019 season was such a major disappointment was because of their inability to take advantage of the talent on their roster. There is little doubt Cleveland had one of the most talented rosters in the NFL last season, yet they ended up finishing the season with one of the worst records in the league.

With so much young talent on the roster, the Browns added talented veterans to push the Browns over the top. Instead, the roster was unable to gel and the Browns wasted a season with most of their core on rookie deals.

Now the Browns are hoping with a new regime in place and most of their core in the final years of their rookie deals they will be able to utilize the talent on their roster

Today’s featured article discusses if the Browns can utilize their talent and ensure the talent can gel in 2020.

Cleveland Browns training camp questions: Can offense finally gel under Kevin Stefanski? – Jake Trotter, ESPN

"But given how Stefanski called the Vikings’ offense in 2019, it’s not difficult to envision what Cleveland’s offense could be this season. That should help all of Cleveland’s skill talents, starting with Mayfield. The Browns are going to be a run-first offense which should help Mayfield be a more efficient quarterback."

Most of Cleveland’s top talent on the offensive side of the football, so the Browns should be able to have one of the top offenses in the NFL. Stefanski’s offense is perfectly suited for both the quarterback and running backs, so the Browns should be able to utilize their talent much better in 2020 than they did in 2019.

3 remaining free agents the Browns could consider

With training camp set to begin in the next few days, the Cleveland Browns roster is likely completed with not much changeover remaining for the 80-man roster. However, Greg Newland looks at three remaining free agents who would still improve Cleveland’s roster.

Baker Mayfield and Jedrick Wills among Browns players reporting for testing Friday despite NFL & NFLPA still negotiating – Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"Browns quarterbacks, rookies and injured players are reporting Friday, and the rest of the veterans are due in on Tuesday. Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., both coming off surgeries, are expected to report on Tuesday."

Although there is still a bunch of uncertainty about the NFL season, the Browns need their quarterbacks and rookies to report to the facility as soon as possible. Since they will be the first to be tested, Baker Mayfield, Jedrick Wills and the others testing on Friday will get to work with the coaches early on in camp compared to the rest of the roster.
