With the first game of the season right around the corner, the Cleveland Browns are still adding players to their team. On Thursday, it was announced that they were bringing in former Tennessee running back John Kelly.

A former sixth-round pick, Kelly has played in eight games with the Los Angeles Rams — four in each of the past two seasons. In that time, he’s had just 30 carries for 83 yards and two receptions for 27 yards.

With the Browns, he joins a group that already has Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, and D’Ernest Johnson. They also have Dontrell Hilliard and Benny LeMay on the practice squad, making it a very deep position indeed.

The story on Kelly’s signing and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Browns sign RB John Kelly to practice squad — ClevelandBrowns.com

"“Kelly (5-10, 208) is a third-year running back out of Tennessee, originally selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round (176th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.”"

Cleveland has one of the best running back depth charts in the entire NFL, so cracking the game-day roster won’t be easy for Kelly. Even so, Kelly gives them a potential fifth very capable halfback on this roster — with Benny LeMay also being a player to watch at the position.

How Myles Garrett pondered quitting football after Mason Rudolph, became a better man, and wants to clear the air with the QB — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“I know that in my heart — and the people who have raised me [know] — that’s never who I’ve been,” he said. “I’ve never been one to crawl up in a ball and to shy away from problems or things that happen to me. I had the opportunity to show that my life and what I’ve been through is bigger than the game of football. I’ve been raised with too many values, too many great role models and peers who have showed me the way to have just lost my way with one incident and it won’t define me.”"

It’s hard to break down everything in this article because Mary Kay Cabot really digs deep into the person that Myles Garrett is. Anyone who has followed him knows that the helmet hitting incident was incredibly out of character for him. Garrett is a sophisticated person with a big heart that goes out of his way to help others. While not every NFL fan wants to see the best in him, Browns fans do, and we support him. This one is well worth the read.

3 veteran NFL free agents who could help the team — Chad Porto, Factory of Sadness

"“When the New England Patriots traded a second-round pick for Mohamed Sanu, the expectation on this veteran was that he’d be able to offset countless injuries on the New England Patriots team and give Tom Brady a real threat in the passing game. Sanu only had 207 yards in eight games with the Patriots”"

Porto wants to see the Browns go after a few key free agents who were released recently by their respective teams. Mohamed Sanu is one name that stood out as he believes he could upgrade the wide receiver position in Cleveland.
