Scouting Report. EDGE. 44. Pick Analysis. Atlanta Falcons. TakkMcKinley. DE. player

The Atlanta Falcons have made it known that they are not interested in trading away quarterback Matt Ryan or wide receiver Julio Jones. They have, however, let teams know that defensive end Takk McKinley is available for trade, for the right price. The Cleveland Browns should make that call to see if the price is right for them.

McKinley has only one sack to his name so far in 2020, but had 16.5 sacks in his first three years in Atlanta. A slow start to this season may scare some away from trading for the pass rusher in the last year of his deal. After all, who wants to trade for a player in a contract year who hasn’t been performing?

Truth is, however, that the entire Falcons defense has struggled when it comes to pressuring the quarterback. With Olivier Vernon struggling to stay on the field because of health concerns, and the Browns making noise for a playoff run in 2020, it’s worth it to see if they can make a trade to get the young edge defender in orange and brown before the trade deadline.

Scouting Report. EDGE. player. 26. Pick Analysis. Baltimore Ravens. DerekWolfe. DE

Derek Wolfe signed a one year deal with the Baltimore Ravens this past offseason, and while he’s played above average thus far, has seen his role diminish in the past few weeks. With the Ravens acquiring Yannick Ngakoue, as well as rotating a few other young players on the defensive line, Wolfe is now seen as more of a luxury to have.

Having a luxury like Wolfe, someone who’s been in the league for a while and has a solid veteran presence is nice, but the Ravens could likely get some draft capital for him, especially from a team like Cleveland, who is looking for a pass rusher opposite Myles Garrett.

Even if Wolfe would only be in Cleveland for the last half of this season and leave via free agency after the year is done, it’s worth kicking the tires on the skilled veteran. It would be especially worth it if it only costs a late-round draft pick in exchange, as well.

Pick Analysis. Buffalo Bills. TrentMurphy. 16. Scouting Report. EDGE. DE. player

Another team, another edge rusher for the Cleveland Browns to consider trading for, this time in Buffalo Bills defensive end Trent Murphy. Murphy is in the last year of his deal with Buffalo, but the 29-year-old has some good numbers in his career, with 10.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.

Buffalo seems willing to let the veteran go, and it shouldn’t cost much, as his snap count has dropped considerably from last season. Murphy was even a healthy scratch from the lineup against the Kansas City Chiefs in their Week 6 matchup.

Andrew Berry should make haste and inquire about Trent Murphy. With the Browns struggling to find consistent pass-rushing help opposite of Myles Garrett on the defensive line, a player like Trent Murphy could be a piece to help put them over the top. And who knows, this could be a trade that goes from an eight-game rental to a long-term extension if Murphy makes a big enough impact for the Browns.
