No. 1: Desmond King

Denzel Ward is a true lockdown cornerback when he is on the field, I firmly believe that. After that, the secondary falls off mightily.

Newly acquired safety Ronnie Harrison has been pretty solid for the Browns as well, giving that secondary a little boost. As you keep moving, it gets shaky. Greedy Williams continues to be hurt, and I have no idea when we will ever see him again. Terrence Mitchell was off to an average start in his place, but has slowly started to drop in production. Andrew Sendejo has been a liability all season long, having Browns fans in shambles game after game.

Desmond King ended up being traded for a 6th round pick, something that I think all fans would have been okay with the Browns parting ways with. I mean, a 6th round pick for a veteran cornerback that has proven to be successful was very do-able. King ended up being traded to the Titans, taking his 24 tackles and one sack on 54 percent snaps played to Tennessee.

So why didn’t the Browns make the move, especially when his cap hit is only $1.1 million? Considering the fact that King is set to be a free agent at the end of the season, maybe new GM Andrew Berry didn’t want to part ways with a pick for a rental.

After all, the heart of the new crew running the Browns is the analytics crew, and analytics do believe in draft picks and draft capital.
