Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know

Week 10 is nearly here as the Cleveland Browns are set to host the Houston Texans. With Cleveland at 5-3 and Houston at 2-6, it would seem likely that the Browns should be favored in this one.

The fact that both wins for the Texans came against the Jacksonville Jaguars only strengthens that opinion. Having said that, there are no sure things in the NFL and the Browns understand this. They also understand that Houston has some players on offense that can be problematic for them.

Deshaun Watson is the first name that comes to mind, which makes sense. The Texans quarterback is a playmaker and a legit superstar but he has some help as well. Will Fuller is capable of taking the top off the defense and Brandin Cooks can be deadly as well.

Thankfully, defensive coordinator Joe Woods is taking these threats seriously. His take on their upcoming opponent, and more, can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Browns D prepares for several tricky matchups vs. Texans — Anthony Poisal

"“It’s really like the same thing every week,” Woods said. “It’s just the nature of playing in the NFL. Week to week, it’s always about matchups. When you look at the quarterback position to the wide receiver position, they really have some matchups that create some problems.”"

While Cleveland is favored in this game.

Browns WR Jarvis Landry ‘absolutely’ playing season for injured Odell Beckham — Grant Gordon, NFL.com

"“Absolutely,” Landry said via team transcript. “He would do anything to be out here on the field. The guys that are in this building from the coaching staff to the players that take the field with him, we all love the way that he worked. We all loved the leader that he was, the player that he is and the way that he made plays to help us win these football games because honestly, we could not have really done that without him.”"

Landry and OBJ have been best friends since college so it’s not surprising at all to see Juice saying such kind words about Beckham. While he doesn’t always get credit for it, OBJ is a leader on this team and the Browns lost more than just a solid receiver when he went down.

Who Are the Browns’ Greatest Defensive Players of All Time? — Andrew Harner, SI Browns Digest

"“The vast majority of players to represent the Browns in the Pro Football Hall of Fame played on the offensive side of the ball, but that doesn’t mean the franchise hasn’t seen its fair share of talented defenders.”"

Harner takes us on a trip down memory lane to look back at the career of players such as Frank Minnifield, Michael Dean Perry, and Hanford Dixon — just to name a few.
