Dud: Andrew Sendejo, Safety

As good as Ronnie Harrison has been for the Browns at safety, they have continued to have problems with their other safety, Andrew Sendejo.

Sendejo was close to being called for a penalty on a play in the end zone when Deshaun Watson went deep for Brandin Cooks. Sendejo was bullied on the play but the wideout ended up falling which bailed Sendejo out.

He was also bailed out on another play when Watson threw the ball to Kenny Stills but missed him high. Stills was unable to come up with the catch but if he had, it could have been deadly for the Browns since the safety took a bad angle on the play. He reached out for Stills, not sure if the pass had been caught, and got just one hand on the receiver meaning there was no way he was making that tackle.

Sendejo has had problems with missing tackles and this would have been another example of that happening. He’s also been slow to react as the deep safety, which was the case on the Texans fourth-quarter touchdowns. On this play, Watson hit former Browns tight end Pharaoh Brown, who caught it before Sendejo could come over to make the play. Sadly, plays like this have been far too common this season as teams have seemed to score at least one touchdown a game with No. 23 running in too late to make a play.
