5 Bold predictions for Cleveland Browns vs. the Eagles
By Greg Newland
2. One safety continues to shine
Through all the bad defensive play all season, there have been two things that have been consistent (maybe three). Those consistencies have been Garrett and Ronnie Harrison. Denzel Ward should be given some credit here as well, as he has put together a nice season at cornerback at well.
Harrison, who the Browns gave up a fifth-round pick for right before the start of the season has continued to get better each week. He started by playing a few snaps at free safety and has turned into what they expected Grant Delpit to be.
Harrison spent most of the game Sunday in the box as he was a crucial part of keeping Deshaun Watson to only 36 rushing yards. In weeks past, running quarterbacks have given Cleveland’s defense a fit, and Harrison finally looks to be the answer.
Expect another huge game from Harrison vs. the Eagles. He will rack up another six-plus tackles, and force a turnover in a game that can take the Browns to 7-3 on the season. What’s exciting is not knowing how he will force the turnover. It could be a strip-sack, fumble, or interception.
This guy is just all over the field and is going to end up being a staple in the Browns defense for years to come. Andrew Berry is still early in his career as a general manager, but this very well could end up being one of the best deals he ever makes in his career.
