2. Quarterback play

Carson Wentz and Baker Mayfield are likely the two most talked about quarterbacks in the NFL on a weekly basis. Wentz has continued to turn the ball over and with only a 58 percent completion percentage and 12 interceptions through 9 games in 2020, some are seriously considering moving on from a guy who got paid big-time money just a year ago.

Mayfield hasn’t had the best stat lines either this season as he has yet to eclipse 300 yards passing in a game and is only completing just over 61 percent of his passes. He has thrown 15 touchdowns to only seven interceptions and has been fantastic as of late managing the game for Stefanski.

A game manager is looked at as a negative in the NFL, but let’s be honest, this offense is built for a game manager. Mayfield has had two bad games, but other than that his stat line is poor because of his limited opportunities to throw the ball.

Versus the Texans, he was only asked to throw the ball 20 times, and the week before vs. the Raiders there were five dropped passes, two of which would have been touchdowns. Don’t get me wrong, Mayfield hasn’t been perfect this year, but he also isn’t a liability. If given the opportunity, look for Mayfield to have another clean game with no turnovers. At the end of the day, that will be plenty for the Browns to get their seventh win.
