Another week brings us another scare on the COVID-19 front for the Cleveland Browns. Although this time, it’s multiple players who are hitting the reserve list.

During their Week 9 bye, the Browns had to place starting quarterback Baker Mayfield on the reserve list after he came in contact with a staffer who had the virus. Now, there are three other key players, two of which are special teams pieces, on the list.

It was reported on Wednesday that starting right tackle Jack Conklin as well as long snapper Charley Hughlett and kicker Cody Parkey have been placed on the reserve list and could miss Week 11 against Philadelphia.

Browns could be without three key players against Eagles because of COVID-19 — Cody Benjamin, CBS Sports

"“The team announced Wednesday that it has placed right tackle Jack Conklin, kicker Cody Parkey and long snapper Charley Hughlett on the COVID-19 reserve list, jeopardizing their availability for Sunday’s game.”"

Even Conklin’s backup is in danger as Chris Hubbard is on the COVID-19 list, meaning Kendall Lamm could be the starter. As for special teams, Matt McCrane is on the practice squad as the kicker but they need to make a move for a long snapper if Hughlett can’t go.

Emmanuel Ogbah hopes to stick in Miami after breakout campaign

"“Every week, Miami Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah creates a big play that either creates a turnover or earns a sack. Every. Week.”"

Back when the Browns traded away Ogbah, there were plenty of us at DPD who weren’t happy with the move. The good news is that he’s trending in the right direction and has a Super Bowl ring from his time with the Chiefs. Things are going well for the former No. 32 pick, and hopefully, he will land a long-term deal and stay where he’s happy.

News & Notes: Browns tapping into contingency plans at multiple positions — Andrew Gribble, ClevelandBrowns.com

"“Everybody else will be (practicing),” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said, “so expect a full group working out there, which will be good.”"

Head coach Kevin Stefanski met with the media on Wednesday and said the team is getting as many reps to everyone as possible as they understand they need contingency plans with their current reserve list now hitting five people as Hughlett, Conklin, and Parkey join Andy Janovich and Chris Hubbard.

Cleveland brings back Derrick Willies

Derrick Willies had a breakout game in 2018 but then suffered an injury and has yet to play again. He now re-joins the Browns practice squad and hopes to get a crack at the active roster.
