Week 12 Cleveland Browns playoff update
By Greg Newland
Baltimore Ravens
At 6-4, the Ravens have taken a step back losing three of their last four games. Not to mention 6-5 looks realistic with a Thanksgiving Night matchup vs. the Steelers. After Pittsburgh, the Ravens play the Cowboys, Browns, Jaguars, Giants, and Bengals. All of which are winnable games for them.
The good news for the Browns, the Ravens have finally hit a slump. The running game has been a struggle the last few weeks, and Lamar Jackson struggles to throw the football when teams know what is coming. You can really start to see the frustration in the locker room as well based on past comments from Jackson.
Once again, the Browns need to root for the Steelers to run away with the AFC North and take care of the Ravens on Monday night in three weeks. In that scenario, the best outcome for the Ravens would be 10-6, and with a Browns win on Monday night, they can easily go 11-5 and keep the Ravens out of the playoffs.
The AFC North is the deepest division in the NFL in 2020, and like 2007, 10-6 may not be enough to get into the playoffs. The Browns are going to have to close out strong and must win 11 games to guarantee themselves a spot.
