Titans win the battle for first place in the AFC South

The Tennessee Titans go to Indianapolis to face the Colts this Sunday. Both teams enter this weekend at 7-3 and the winner will have first place in the AFC South. This game is not only going to be pivotal for the race for the division, but it also has implications for the Browns as they attempt to make the playoffs.

Indianapolis enters their Week 12 matchup with the Titans after an impressive victory over the Green Bay Packers. The Colts are playing some of the best football they have played all season and seem poised to take sole possession of first place in the AFC South.

The Titans are also coming off of their own impressive victory in week 11 over the Baltimore Ravens. This game was a nail-biter as it went into overtime before Derrick Henry sealed the victory with one of his classic late-November long touchdown runs. Both teams come into the game with momentum but only one of them can come out with the victory.

No matter which way this game goes, the winner will take the lead in the division and the loser will enter into the wild card standings. It’s better for the Browns if they are battling with the Colts for a wild card slot than the Titans.

Cleveland holds the advantage if they were to tie with the Colts at the end of the season. They have this because of their impressive Week 5 victory over the Colts. The chances that the Browns and Colts end the season with the same record are fairly high given that both teams have some momentum and currently stand at 7-3. It is better for the Browns to have to compete with Indy for a wild card spot than the Titans.
