2. James Robinson, Running Back

The Jaguars released Leonard Fournette prior to the season, and have gotten better play out of undrafted free agent James Robinson this year than they ever did out of the 2017 fourth overall pick. Robinson is on pace for over 1,600 yards from scrimmage and has scored seven touchdowns on 203 touches. The Eagles were doing a good job of running the ball until Carson Wentz got in the way, so if the Jags can avoid falling into a hole early, Robinson should be able to rack up some solid yardage. And if he’s needed in the passing game later on, he’ll also be a significant threat.

Robinson seemed to like the number 4 in college. He didn’t wear it, but over his four seasons at Illinois State, Robinson totaled 4,444 yards and 44 touchdowns on the ground. Even considering the level of competition, it’s a wonder he wasn’t drafted with that kind of production, but the NFL is weird sometimes.

Cleveland’s run defense looks solid on paper; eighth in yards allowed, ninth in yards per carry, and tied for fifth in touchdowns given up. However, in games where the opposition has actually chosen to (and/or has actually had the choice to) commit to the run game, the Browns defensive front-seven has been beaten pretty soundly.

The Las Vegas Raiders ran for 209 yards and the Eagles ran for 106 in between Carson Wentz incompletions and sacks. If Cleveland can’t get out to an early lead, look for Robinson to find some success on the ground.
