1. The Talent Gap

These are two teams heading in opposite directions at this juncture of the season. The Browns are trending upwards while dealing with injuries and illnesses to the most talented players on their roster, while the Jaguars are in a complete free fall. The talent gap between the two franchises is simply too large to ignore.

Prior to the mass exodus that has taken place in Jacksonville in 2020, the gap wasn’t quite as wide. Since the end of the 2019 season, the Jaguars traded away Calais Campbell, Yannick Ngakoue, A.J. Bouye, Ronnie Harrison Jr, and cut Leonard Fournette. Just like that, a team that was primed to be middle of the road found themselves at the bottom of the NFL talent barrel.

Even with all the injuries and illnesses the Browns are currently dealing with, at each and every positional group they have the talent advantage in this matchup. Some groups have a bigger disparity than others, like the offensive and defensive lines. Although, the Jaguars do have a surplus of young unproven talent that could prove to be solid in the upcoming seasons, but as of right now, the gap in overall team talent isn’t particularly close.

In the end; coaching, quarterback play, and talent win out. Because of those reasons the Browns record will be 8-3 when the final whistle blows on Sunday.
