Dud: Cornerbacks

When it was announced that Denzel Ward would miss a few weeks with a calf injury, it was understood that the Cleveland secondary could be in trouble. They were already without Greedy Williams, who has yet to play this season due to a shoulder injury and that meant they were down to their third and fourth options as the two starters.

Beyond that, they were forced to use special teams ace Tavierre Thomas and Robert Jackson a lot more than they would like as well. That ended up working in the Jaguars favor as Mike Glennon was able to pick apart this secondary to the tune of 235 yards and two touchdowns. And it could have been much more.

Glennon misfired on a couple of plays where receivers were running free in the secondary, and there was also the aforementioned touchdown break-up from Andrew Sendejo. Outside of the yardage, there were some gaffes as well. That included when Terrance Mitchell was called for pass interference on a play that gave up 12-yards and a free set of downs when he was beaten by Keenan Cole. He also missed a possible turnover when he had a shot at a pick on a pass to Cole but never located the ball. Cleveland needed their secondary to step up with Ward out and they failed to do so.
