The Cleveland Browns see an opening in the AFC North

There weren’t many of us who expected the Pittsburgh Steelers to lose to a team with no name, but that’s what happened on Monday. And while it might have been just their first loss of the season, it opened the door for the Cleveland Browns who are now two games behind them in the AFC North.

And players for the Browns took notice of this as well. Myles Garrett, Cleveland’s star defensive end, was one who made it clear that Cleveland sees blood in the water. He tweeted out that their loss opened the door for his team, as they have their sights on more than just a Wild Card Spot.

While Cleveland will need a few things to break their way in order to surpass the Steelers, Garrett is right in saying the door is open — even if only slightly.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Myles Garrett says Steelers’ first loss may have ‘opened the door’ for Browns to win AFC North — Bryan DeArdo, CBS Sports

"“Steelers might have opened the door,” Garrett write via Twitter while including an eyeball emoji."

Right now, the Steelers have the head-to-head tiebreaker and they have the better divisional record. This means Cleveland would not only need to beat the Steelers in Week 17 but they also need to knock off the Ravens (and probably everyone else they face down the stretch) and hope the Steelers lose to the Bengals. Sounds like it might be too much to ask, but Pittsburgh did just lose to a team literally named Football Team, so stranger things have happened.

Sheldon Richardson was the game wrecker in Browns’ 41-35 victory over Titans, and other takeaways — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“Richardson stopped Henry short twice — including on fourth-and-1 — on the opening drive to set the Browns offense up at their 41. Baker Mayfield cashed in, throwing a 2-yard TD pass to Jarvis Landry to make it 10-0”"

Richardson was the prized free-agent signing in 2019 for former general manager John Dorsey and it was easy to see why. Richardson is a player capable of taking over a game, which was on full display Sunday. The defense let off the gas in the second half but they were a huge reason for the big lead after two quarters.
