4. Vernon racks up two more sacks

While the New York Giants have 33 sacks this season, they have given up 41 to their opponents with 37 of those being absorbed by Daniel Jones — who is a rather mobile quarterback so he’s also avoided more than his share of hits. The Giants offensive line has been better as of late but there was a time when they were one of the worst in the NFL.

Having said that, they’re still not exactly a well-oiled machine and that could play nicely into the hands of Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon. Speaking of Vernon, the second-year Brown has been on fire as of late as he has five sacks in the past three weeks. Two of those came on Monday against Lamar Jackson, which is no easy feat.

Now, he’s prepared to face the team that traded him away for an offensive lineman. Ahead of the 2019 season, the Giants and Browns swung a deal that sent Vernon to Cleveland in exchange for right guard Kevin Zeitler. The move made sense for both teams, but don’t think Vernon isn’t going to be a little amped up for this one.

With that being the case, this bold prediction is that No. 54 gets two more sacks, which would give him nine on the season. Not bad for a player many of us thought might not make it to Week 1.
