Jarvis Landry was in the headlines more than once on Thursday

There were a couple of stories on Thursday in regards to Jarvis Landry. The Cleveland Browns wideout was asked about an incident on Monday Night Football where it looked as though Marcus Peters of the Ravens tried to spit on him.

Landry didn’t hold back when asked about it as he called him a “coward” for the move. And of course, Peters claims he didn’t do it — although, the video circulating on social media seemed pretty compelling.

That wasn’t the only time Landry made news though as he was also asked about facing former head coach Freddie Kitchens. Juice never said anything bad about the former coach who he was seen yelling at on the sidelines near the end of 2019, but he did say he wasn’t “opposed” to him being let go.

Those stories and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Cleveland Browns News

Jarvis Landry ‘wasn’t opposed’ to the Browns firing Freddie Kitchens — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“I was not opposed to it,’’ Landry said Thursday. “I can only do my job and trust that the staff and the organization are going to be able to put somebody in place, whether that continued to be Freddie or Coach Kevin (Stefanski) as it is now obviously, to make sure that we can get on the right track and be a winning football team.”"

Freddie Kitchens always seemed like a good guy but he wasn’t ready for the head coaching job. That’s on former GM John Dorsey for making the call. And while Landry didn’t slam Kitchens by any means with his statement, his comments show that the coach seemingly did lose the respect of his players.

Ravens CB Marcus Peters denies spitting at Browns WR Jarvis Landry — Grant Gordon, NFL.com

"“I didn’t spit at Jarvis,” Peters’ statement read. “Where I come from, when you have an issue with someone, you deal with it face-to-face, man-to-man. Anyone who believes that I intentionally spit at him does not know me – plain and simple.”"

There are videos all over Twitter, and it sure looked like he spit at Landry. But hey, who are we to judge?

Browns cornerback Denzel Ward back at practice, looking forward to facing Giants — Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"“Ward practiced for the second straight day on Thursday and was listed as limited, but he appears on track to return against the Giants on Sunday night.”"

Cleveland’s defense has been a mess without Denzel Ward. He masks a lot of problems in the secondary and his return would be vital.

New York Giants OC Jason Garrett tests positive for coronavirus; Freddie Kitchens to call plays vs. Cleveland Browns — Jordan Raanan, ESPN

"“Tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens will assume playcalling duties against his former team less than a calendar year after the Browns fired him.”"

Again, Kitchens seemed like a great guy so we are all hoping he finds success. After Week 15.

Loss to Giants could cost Cleveland Browns playoff spot

The Browns should be able to win their next two games against the New York Giants and the New York Jets — that is, as long as they don’t fall victim to the dreaded ‘trap game’. Josh Brown talks about what it could mean for Cleveland’s playoff hopes if they don’t get it done on Sunday Night.
