The Browns need help on the defensive line just as much as they need it in the secondary. Larry Ogunjobi’s regression has continued and he seems unlikely to be re-signed at this point. Sheldon Richardson is solid, but he’s also due $13 million next season, which is a gross overpay. Jordan Elliott has been decent when he’s been on the field, but he’s far from a surefire long-term starter. Andrew Billings will help immensely in 2021, but interior DL still needs more bolstering.

It remains to be seen if Jaylen Twyman is the type of defensive tackle the Browns will be interested in, but he was an excellent collegiate player who held up well against the run and generated consistent pressure on passing downs.

He’s far from Aaron Donald, and will likely need a space-eating 1-tech alongside him (Billings), but Twyman possesses the advanced hand usage and technique that should allow him to succeed in the NFL despite less than stellar physical traits. It’s unlikely Cleveland would be able to find a better football player at this point in the draft, and he just so happens to fill one of the team’s biggest needs. If Twyman is on the board at this point, the pick should be submitted immediately.
