Jedrick Wills (1st round)

In a draft where the Browns still had a high first-round pick but did not have to use it on a quarterback, they managed to land their left tackle of the future in Jedrick Wills.

Wills had an outstanding rookie season, especially after all of the concern of how he would handle sliding over to left tackle with the signing of Jack Conklin.

Wills only allowed four sacks this season, protecting the blindside of his franchise quarterback very nicely. Wills was also a monster in the run-blocking game, enabling Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to run wild and both have monster rushing seasons.

In terms of pressure, I strongly believe that it is fair to say that Wills had an immense amount of pressure on him entering his rookie season. Why?

Everyone knew that the Browns had high expectations once again entering this year, and Wills knew that also. After drafting Wills, the Browns came out and said he was their number one guy on their draft board all along, even with Wills’ draft class being loaded with offensive lineman.

Wills was injured in the divisional playoff game against the Chiefs on the first play of the game and was not able to return for the entire game. The injury he sustained is nothing serious, as he will be fully healthy here soon this off-season and ready to continue to get better.

Wills is only going to continue to get better, but made a pretty solid case that he can be their guy for a long, long time.
